What you can expect from your treatment

An initial consultation will be given with ALL of the treatments I offer. This consultation will vary in detail depending on the treatment best suited for you.

Most western massage therapies are performed directly on the skin. Clothing is usually removed for a full-body massage, although underwear can be worn if you prefer. Towels cover the areas not being massaged and help to keep the body warm. In oriental massage therapies, which use pressure techniques, clothing is usually kept on.

A full-body massage usually takes about an hour. If only part of the body is being massaged, such as the neck and shoulders, the massage may last up to 30 minutes.

What about confidentiality?

Everything we discuss will be completely confidential. Information would only be released to other parties, such as a General Practitioner, with the express and written permission of the client. ListeningTouch is registered under the Data Protection Act.

What personal information is required?

Some medical detail is required to ensure that it is safe for you to undergo treatment. Some conditions may mean that massage is inappropriate. If in any doubt please call me to discuss.

How many sessions will I need?

This is absolutely dependent on your individual problem or indeed requirement. You may want a one-off relaxation massage to de-stress you or you may have a deep rooted postural problem that requires several sessions. Unfortunately long-term problems cannot always be cured overnight. I will work with you after each session by providing structured exercises and stretches. Putting right what can sometimes be years of poor posture and lack of exercise, flexibility and mobility is a collaborative partnership between the two of us.

What is the cost of treatment?

This will vary depending on the type and duration of treatment. The cost will be given before any treatment takes place or charges incurred. Please refer to my Treatment Prices.

How long is a session?

Are the treatments and your qualifications up-to-date?

I regularly attend courses and conferences to ensure that my skills and knowledge are current. My professional body require me to complete CPD (continuing professional development) as part of their conditions for membership.
